Getting ready for Halloween 2015

Proof copy arrived ready for checking!

This year, for me, Halloween is all about preparing to launch my collection of short stories, set, of course, mainly around Halloween.  The stories come from tales told on those lengthening nights to my own children as they were becoming increasingly excited about the change of season and about Halloween night itself.  When they were younger, Halloween involved a good deal of making, baking and decorating the house.  More recently, it has involved sitting in candle-lit room watching "spooky" movies, things a bit chilling and unnerving, and reading the sorts of stories that make your spine tingle although not necessarily make your stomach turn.

As my kids have reached their older teenage years, they are more interested in going to parties in fancy dress, although making apple pies and carving pumpkins and lighting candles in our Samhain corner is still featuring this year.  And they have helped me out with the stories, from listening to them and giving me some constructive criticism (quite harsh at times, but always constructive) to taking the cover photo, to posing for the cover photo.

The book is now available on download via Amazon, and by the end of the week, I hope to have the paperbacks here, in my lounge, ready to sell.  Sell out, I hope.

The Dark Closes In are chilling tales for long winter nights - which is your favourite? Click the link below and download your copy now!
